PearTune MSO-BR2 for Brose “Original”
PearTune MSO “max speed off” BR2 is a tuning tool for electric bikes with Brose drive systems. Contrary to many other electric bicycle tuning tools the PearTune MSO-BR2 device not only shifts the engines speed limit from 25 km/h to 50 km/h, it takes away the speed limitation completely. This means, at least theoretically, you can reach unlimited speed values with the engine power still supporting (please note that the actual maximum speed depends on the respective system).
Contrary to many other electric bike tuning tools the PearTune MSO BR2 does not divide the transmitted speed. This has the advantage that your display will show all relevant data like current speed, average- / maximum-speed and distance absolutely correct – even if the tuning tool is activated (please note there can be deviations for certain variants).
The PearTune MSO BR2 has to be installed between magnetic speed sensor and engine as well as between display and engine (the electricity supply comes via the plug of the display).
You can turn the PearTune “Original” device on simply by pressing the light button of the display. If you want to turn the tuning tool off, simply click on the light button again. Now the PearTune MSO is deactivated. Light ON = Tuning ON / Light OFF = Tuning OFF.
Important hint: If you got a Brose electric bike without light activation button or even completely without display at all, you need the PearTune MSO for Brose “Special / Still ON” tuning tool (a good example is the Brose Specialized Turbo Levo system, which has got no display because it can be controlled via Smartphone). The Brose “Special / Still ON” tuning tool will be activated automatically when you switch on your electric bike.

Now the bad bit! Fitting is slightly difficult due to the use of ridged wiring making final fitting more involved. The main problem with this device is its home made connections to the original Brose wiring, I can see this being seen as poor manufacturing on an otherwise great product.
